Metaldehyde slug pellets are to be banned across Great Britain in 2020.

Defra secretary Michael Gove announced the decision on 19th December 2018 to ban the pesticide following advice from the UK Expert Committee on Pesticides (ECP) and the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).

The majority BUT NOT ALL of the slug pellets we currently sell at the barn store contain Metaldehyde and we will no longer be able to sell these after 30th June 2019.

The government announced that the outdoor use of these slug pellets will be phased out over 18 months to give growers time to adjust to other methods of slug control. So the products can still be used up to June 2020.
